Frequently Asked Questions

These are definitely the questions that we are asked most:

What if I have a injury?

Dance classes are not obstacle courses – this is a relaxed, controlled atmosphere. If you can walk without injury, you can dance! Dance to your own level and don’t push yourself. If you do have any questions do not hesitate to talk to your teacher.

What should I wear to class? What shoes do you recommend?

Wear what you are comfortable in, there is no dress code, but you have to be able to dance in what you wear. – you may sweat a lot so remember to bring a towel. For beginners’ classes all you need to have is shoes that won’t fall off your feet. We do recommend that you avoid stiletto heels when you first start.

I have never danced before, and have two left feet. Can I still dance?

Our beginners’ classes are designed for those that have never danced before. People with two left feet are our specialty. We believe anyone can dance given the right instruction.

When does the next course start?

Please have a look at our timetable here. This shows you the dates of all of our upcoming classes and events.

Do I need a partner?

No not at all. All of our classes are designed so that you can learn as an individual and then put that together with a partner. If you do not have a partner our qualified experienced teachers are there to partner you as well as Helpers that participate in the class. The best way to learn to dance is with many different people. If you do not want to change partner though, we will not stop you.

What if I miss a class? Can I still make it up?

All of our classes run on 6 week courses. If you do miss a class, we allow you to do one of our classes on another day of the same type during that week. If there is no class of that type in the timetable, unfortunately we apologise that you will forfeit that lesson for the week.

What if I have to cancel a Private Lesson?

If you need to cancel a private lesson we ask that you give your teacher at least 24-48 hours’ notice. This will allow your teacher to be able to reschedule someone else in this time. If you cannot do this, all lessons will be charged in full, no matter what the reason. If you cannot accept this condition please do not book private lessons.
